Today I stayed home sick, instead of going to work. I don’t remember the last time I missed work because I was ill. It’s been months, if not a year. It’s been pretty relaxing — chatting with friends far away, doing laundry, watching movies… and, oh yeah, getting medicine.

A lot of things have been on my mind recently. Besides the usual things running amok in my head (quarter life crisis, training, etc.), I’ve been thinking a lot about racism, specifically in our country, but also globally. I’ve recently had periphery conversations on racism with some friends. And the subtleness of it is distrubing. There seems to be a fine line between racism, prejudice, and preference. A line that I can’t clearly draw. This annoys me and conerns me. I’m going to make these lines more defined. Time for research.

Racism pisses me off. But I agree about there being a subtle (and constantly shifting) line between what is and what is not racism. On a somewhat related note, Crash is a fabulous movie. Check it out.

Yeah, I saw it about a month ago. At so many points in the movie I just wanted to yell.
