So, this weekend was pretty entertaining. It began with the initiation of seven new brothers, including my 2nd little brother, Kevin Michael Backfish. After initiation, my lineage (John William Burgner III, Kevin Michael Backfish, and yours truly) went to Outback Steakhouse with the rest of the Pikes. While there, I tried to buy drinks for them, but the Outback staff wasn’t too helpful with that (oh well). It was also Jason Strobel’s 21st birthday. I had planned on going to Strassenfest to celebrate with him, but I decided to hit my bed instead, which was a good idea — it was much needed and wanted.
Saturday was another fun day. I spent most of the day preparing for our Spring Foam Party. It is amazing how quickly time flies when setting up. We tested all of our new party lights ($2100+
); they’re very nice, worked on the party playlist, and of course, helped out anyway possible with making sure the foam machines worked well. During all this was one very big concern and annoyance — the weather. It had been storming all day and that would definetly reduce the crowd. Fortunetly, it stopped around 9:30 PM. The party started at 10:00 PM, though it really didn’t get started until 11:00 PM, when it started to get quite full. It was an awesome party. I met a lot of people and had some great times. It was packed the entire time, and even when we shut it down, there were still a lot of people there. The Autumn Foam Party will be bigger and better without a doubt!
Sunday was spent recovering and relaxing from last night. The SGA Executive Committee meeting snuck up on me quickly and Pike meetings kept me busy until 9 ish. Now to go work on some statistics homework and back up a hard drive for a brother down at ISU.
